Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Steers 20, 21, 33, 35, 270, 1626 and cow 1396 were all lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud in the area around ///couple.slack.cabbages on Sandy Hill at 15:40.  Cow 940 was up and about, munching on fresh grass on the other side of the path.  It was nice to see that steers 21 and 33 had come out of hiding and rejoined the herd 😊.  Over the next twenty minutes, the cows got up, had a stretch, chewed their cud a bit more before all wandering off to the west.  They were all happy and looking well.

The five other Sussexes, steers 197, 210 and 1640 plus cows 211 and 212, emerged from the gorse bushes around ///years.ports.stowing on Sandy Hill at 16:05. They had all recently climbed up the hill. All five started to eat the grass. They were all good.

Steers 30, 217, 219, 220, 222, 227, 228 and 271 were all together in the area around ///scale.method.pixel at 16:15.  Most were lying down and resting.  A few were standing and chewing their cud, but they soon lay back down.  Youngster 219 had a couple of tick bites on his left side.  Yearling 271 was having a nap.  The boys were all happy and relaxed.

Cows 72, 214, 215 and 234 plus steer 230 were all grazing near ///quit.drip.sweat at 16:30.  They were a little spread out, but all happily munching away.  Cow 215 was very friendly today.  They were all looking well.

The cows were all good today.
