The cows were all found on Sandy Hill from 09:30 on a very cold and foggy Saturday morning. They were spread out from cows 72 and 940 on their favourite corner all the way along to steers 20, 21 and 30 in the area around ///files.selling.brownish. Several were grazing deep in the gorse bushes, but they soon came out to say hello. Others were preferring to eat frost tipped grass. Cow 72 had extended her neck over the perimeter fence, where she was happily eating leaves from the bushes.
The cows slowly started to gather on their favourite corner just after 10:00 where they began to relax and chew their cud. Several continued to graze, mainly eating gorse, walking along as far as ///hiker.smug.strict. They were very friendly today, with many wandering up to say hello. Cow 215 and steer 227 were happy to stand and receive head rubs.
Youngster 230 was the only one I couldn't find, despite an extensive search for him, including in the gorse bushes. He appeared at the pill box at 10:45 and wandered along to join the others. I've still no clue where he had been.
I broke the ice on some puddles on the main path so they could get some water to drink.
The cows were all good today and seemed unconcerned by the chilly conditions.
