Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 10th December - All 19 seen

Steer 20 and cows 72 and 940 were grazing on Sandy Hill around ///liner.bulb.cyber at 10:00 this morning.  The girls were munching on gorse deep in the bushes behind where steer 20 was standing.  They were all looking well.

A mixed group of eleven cows were spread out, grazing on the slope of Sandy Hill at 10:25.  Most were in the area around ///paces.moral.vines.  The rain had started by this point, but they weren't letting that stop them from eating the tasty heather.  A few cows moved on to eating gorse, with the bushes providing shelter from the rain.

The final five, cow 215 and steers 35, 220, 270 and 271, were found grazing in the area around ///rural.triads.implore at 11:05.  They were all very wet but were happy and relaxed.

When I returned to the top of Sandy Hill, the first three cows had wandered along and were grazing in the rain at the start of their favourite corner.

The cows were all good today.
