Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Thursday 21st December - All 19 seen

Cows 20, 21, 30, 33, 72, 234 and 940 were all happily grazing in the area around ///tailwind.silver.dabbing at the far end of Longbottom at 12:55 today.  They were grazing on both sides of the path and in the surrounding thicket.  They were all happy and looking well.

Cows 35, 214, 215, 217, 219, 220, 222, 228, 270 and 271 were found in the area around ///starfish.kind.drops at 13.10.  They had found a nice spot where they were getting sheltered from the worst of the wind.  Several cows were standing and chewing their cud.  Others were lying down and relaxing.  Youngsters 217, 219 and 222 had all made beds out of the bracken.   Youngster 219 had completely buried himself in the bracken.  After a while, all ten of them had laid down.

Steers 227 and 230 were busy eating gorse in the bushes around ///richly.dugouts.pens not too far from the first group of cows.  They were enjoying their lunch and were not in a hurry to come out, so I went in to find them.  They were happy and relaxed.

The cows were all good today.
