Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 9th December - All 19 seen

Steer 20 and cows 72 and 940 were grazing deep in the gorse bushes just along from James Bond Pond around ///laughs.elated.scraper  at 10:10 this morning.  They were all happy and relaxed and were enjoying the gorse.  After a bit, steer 20 and cow 940 came out and started munching on heather.

The other fifteen cows were well spread out grazing in the wooded area around ///snowy.crafts.warm at 10:40.  Despite being rather wet, they were all enjoying eating leaves and holly in the thicket.  After a while, most stopped munching and started to rest and chew their cud.  There were lots of very friendly cows today, with several coming over to say hello.  Cow 215 and steer 227 were happy to stand for a while and receive head rubs.  They all appeared very relaxed and didn't appear to be in any rush to leave the area when I left them at 11:30.

The cows were all good today.
