Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 3rd December - All 19 seen

Cows 214, 217, 219, 220, 228 and 270 were all happily grazing amongst the heather in the area around ///stung.loyal.detect at 09:30 this morning.  Older steers 21 and 33 were grazing close by.  Older cow 72 was relaxing and chewing her cud.  Thankfully it was warmer today, but there was still some fog blanketing the site.  Many of the cows were also rather damp.

Cows 30, 215, 222, 230 and 271 were all eating gorse deep in the bushes around ///trim.happen.carpeted at 09.50.  Youngster 222 came out to say hello.  They were spread out, so I initially missed yearling 271 but found him after a second look.

Steers 20 and 227 were munching on long grass and heather in the area around ///skid.sensibly.stunt soon after.  They were both happy and relaxed.  Cows 234 and 940 were eating gorse in the bushes by the main path to their south.

Older steer 35 was found grazing by himself around ///gain.poet.trudges at 10.20.  He was fine and enjoying some quiet time.  I had returned to the first group before finding him and cows 72 and 228 were lying down, relaxing buried in the heather.  The others continued to graze.

By 11.10 the cows had come out of the gorse bushes and joined the others.  Older steers 21, 30 and 33 were all lying down beside cow 72.  Youngsters 214, 215, 217, 219, 220, 227, 228 and 230 were all standing together chewing their cud around ///prude.gifts.shred.   The others were all up in the area beside where older steer 35 had been grazing.

The cows were all good today.
