Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Friday 29th September - All 19 seen

    Cows 20, 30, 72, 222, 227, 230, 270 and 940 were all grazing in the thicket around ///spent.cattle.nest at 16.35 this afternoon.  They were all happily munching on grass, bushes and leaves from the trees.

    Older steer 21 and cows 214, 215 and 234 were all lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud in the warm afternoon sunshine on a patch of grass around ///swim.clips.chip at 16:50.  They were all very relaxed and looking well.

    Steers 35, 219, 228 and 271 all wandered down to the trees behind where the group of four were lying.  They all started grazing amongst the trees.  The group of four soon got up and joined them.  All eight cows went off grazing amongst the thicket in a south-westerly direction.

    Youngsters 217 and 220 had resumed acorn hunting duties and were together in the area around ///good.refuse.spots at 17:05.  They were not having much luck, but that didn't diminish their efforts.

    Found older steer 33 in the area around ///tubes.become.ticket about ten minutes later.  He emerged from the bracken and stood in the sunshine on one of the paths.  The group of eight cows was grazing close by.

    The cows were all good today.
