Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Steers 21 and 33 were grazing together in the thicket around ///gossip.shrimp.audit at 16:10 this afternoon.  Older cows 20, 30, 35, 72 and 949 plus youngster 222 were all grazing in the sunshine a bit further east around ///shuts.cases.reject.  It took a bit of effort to get to them in amongst the various bushes, but they were all looking good today.

Youngsters 217, 219, 220, 227, 228 and 230 plus yearlings 270 and 271 were all enjoying a paddle in the James Bond Pond at 17:00 this evening.   They were all having a lovely time, with lots of water flying around, as they were cooling off.  Yearling 271 won the prize for wading out the furthest.   The three British White girls, cows 214, 215 and 234, were standing by the edge of the water, relaxing and enjoying the warm sunshine.   Steers 217, 219, 220 and 230 all waded to the far western bank of the pond, where they all started munching on leaves from the trees.   They appeared to absolutely love them.

The other four steers came out of the water at just after 17:25 and went grazing with the girls amongst the thicket on the western bank of the pond, slowly making their way around to the area at ///waters.situation.tens.  The four who were enjoying the leaves all climbed out of the pond and joined them after a while.

As I was leaving the site at 18:20, the eight cows from the first group were in or around the cow shed.

The cows were all good today.
