Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Wednesday 20th September - All 19 seen

    Steers 21, 35 and 227 were munching on leaves from the trees in the area around ///enjoy.hunt.gears at 17.00 this evening.  Youngster 230 was hunting for acorns close by.  No idea what he had been up to, but he was drenched.

    Cows 214, 217, 228 and 234 were grazing under the cover of the trees around ///firm.opens.stamp a short time later.  Cow 215 and yearlings 270 and 271 were munching on grass close by, not bothered about the heavy rain.  They all headed north-west along Sunny Hill Road, stopping in the area around ///years.push.most.  No idea where he had been, but youngster 219 came wandering along about five minutes later and joined them.

    Heading back into the trees near to where I found the first four cows, steers 30, 33 and 222 plus older cow 940 were hunting for acorns in the area around ///jets.silver.races at 17:30.  They had been joined by steers 21, 227 and 230.  They were all looking well.

    Cows 20, 72 and 220 were found in some trees around ///overpower.doubt.full just off of Longbottom at 17:55.  They were all very wet, but the two older cows were munching away on leaves from the trees.  They all seemed fine despite the torrential rain.

    The cows were all good this evening.
