Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Cows 214, 217, 219, 227, 228, 230 and 234 were all lying down resting and chewing their cud on the patch of grass around ///crust.couch.rated at 17:10 this afternoon. Older steer 21 was lying down by himself in the trees around ///folds.chip.probe.   He, too, was relaxing and chewing his cud.

Cows 20, 30, 35, 72, 215, 220, 271 and 940 were all lying down relaxing and chewing their cud around ///scout.cube.noon fifteen minutes later.  Yearling 270 was up and about and happily munching on the fresh grass.  The cows would occasionally get up and have a stretch before repositioning and lying back down. I circled back round at 17:45 while searching for the missing two, and the group of eight had wandered along and joined the others.

Youngster 222 was found grazing around ///pushed.volume.ritual just after 18:00.  He was happily munching on grass amongst the trees and bushes.  Older steer 33 was grazing close by.

The group of seventeen cows had all started grazing in the thicket close to where they had been lying.  Cows 214, 217, 234, 271 and 940 wandered off in the direction of the cow shed at about 18:20.  Like last week, they cut into the trees and wandered along to the area around ///tiger.toast.reserving where they had a big drink from the pool of water.  After having a drink, they all started munching on the grass in the surrounding area.

The cows were all good today.
