Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Thursday 28th September - All 19 seen

Youngsters 214, 215, 220, 222, 228, 234 and yearling 271 were all grazing on the grass alongside the path in the area around ///ignore.actors.apples at 17.25 this evening.  Steers 227 and 230 were grazing in the bushes at the bottom of the steep incline.   They both came back up to ground level and started to graze with the others.   They were all looking well.

As I was checking the far side of the area where I found the first nine cows, I saw steer 35 having a drink from James Bond Pond in the distance.  By the time I wandered over at 17:55, he'd moved to the area around ///takers.scrambles.puppy where he was munching on heather.  He was all alone, but seemed happy enough.   The other cows were grazing in his general direction, so hopefully they'll meet up.

Cows 30, 217, 219, 270 and 940 were all found grazing around ///tractor.mows.racked at 18:05.   They soon disappeared into the thicket to eat some leaves from the trees.  Older steers 20, 21, 33 and cow 72 were all found munching on grass at the bottom of the hill around ///stem.norms.arrival a short time later.  Slowly, the first five wandered down the hill and joined them.

The cows were all good this evening.
