Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Thursday 14th September - All 19 seen

Cows 35, 214, 217, 234 and 271 were found wandering towards Horse Pond at 17:30 this evening.   When they got there, they all waded into the water at the northern end to have a big drink.   After having a drink, they started to graze in the surrounding area.

Cows 215, 219, 220, 228 and 270 were all found grazing around ///level.forklift.realm ten minutes later.  They were all happy and relaxed.

Steers 33 and 230 were found grazing in the thicket around ///tools.strut.hangs shortly before 18:00.  Steers 20 and 21 were munching in the gorse bushes close by.  As I was checking them, the first group of five cows turned up and started to graze.

Returning to the southern bank of Horse Pond a short time later, cow 72 was standing, relaxing and chewing her cud beside the lying down cow 940.   Older steer 30 was in the gorse bushes behind them.   Steers 222 and 227 were munching on the grass at the side of the path running along the east side of the pond.  They were both looking really well.

The cows were all good this evening.  Hopefully they'll all come together soon.
