Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 10th September - All 19 seen

All nineteen cows were spread out grazing on both sides of the path in the area around ///info.ideals.hops near the Beacon Hill Road at 09:20 this morning.  They were enjoying the lush green grass.  They were all very relaxed and looking well in the slightly cooler conditions.  The cows continued to graze along the side of the path for twenty-five minutes before turning right at ///squirted.rear.physics and continuing into the pasture where they continued to graze.

After grazing for a while, the cows all made their way over to the tall trees where all but steers 20, 222 and 230 went in among the trees.  The three steers continued to munch on patches of grass just in front of the trees.  The others, who were fairly widely spread, all continued to graze on the grass growing amongst the trees.   Before long, the cows started to relax, rest and chew their cud.  Yearling 270 found a nice spot behind some bracken and had a lie down.  It was actually nice and cool under the shade of the trees.

By 10:30, the three steers were still munching away with the rest of the herd all nice and relaxed still among the trees.

The cows were all good today.
